Great River Homes, Inc. provides Basic Individualized Home Supports (IHS) designed to help individuals with developmental disabilities live as independently and confidently as possible in their own homes and communities. Our IHS services focus on support and providing guidance in at least one of the community service categories ( community participation; health, safety and wellness; household management; adaptive skills) by empowering each person to lead a self-directed life rooted in choice, dignity, and community inclusion. This service does not focus on goals or building skills, but instead assists with cueing, skill maintenance, providing guidance and instruction, assistance with activities of daily living, assistance with coordination of community living activities which could include direct supervision.
Through IHS, our dedicated staff offer flexible, person-centered assistance tailored to each individual’s unique strengths and support needs. Services may include help with household tasks, meal preparation, community access, health and wellness routines, and maintaining skills that promote independence.
We work collaboratively with each person to promote confidence, self-sufficiency, and opportunities for engagement in their community. Whether providing short, targeted support or ongoing assistance, our team is committed to endorsing meaningful participation in everyday life.
