Position Summary

POSITION:

Part Time Support Service Coordinator (Lake City & Wabasha)
• Benefits: Will be effective the first of the month following 30 days of going full time, with benefits outlined in the Personnel Policy.
• Hours: 29 hours per week to meet the need of the agency.
• Start Date: Begin as soon as possible.

Wage: Earn $20.00 per hour awake time and $20.00 overnight sleep time!

BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Support Service Coordinator is to provide direct service to people with disabilities in accordance with the mission, policies and practices of Great River Homes, Inc.

ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIP:
1. Directly responsible to and supervised by the Program Supervisor.
2. Work in cooperation with the other Great River Homes, Inc. employees.

Support Service Coordinators provide support services to people with disabilities in accordance with the mission, policies and practices of Great River Homes, Inc. The Support Service Coordinator works directly under the supervision of a Program Supervisor.

Qualifications

Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Previous work experience and education in human services is not required. Applicants must pass a background study from the Department of Human Services.

Applicants must be capable of completing essential job functions without posing direct threats to the health and safety of others, they must prove they are free of tuberculosis and must be able to physically perform the duties of the job.

Paid training is provided to include Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/First Aid course and Medication Administration class. Support Service Coordinators also attend monthly team meetings and other trainings.

Applicants need to possess good communication skills and must be able to follow instructions, read, write and speak English, work under limited supervision, balance multiple and varied responsibilities, and have access to a working phone.

Support Service Coordinators are members of a team who supervise and assist people in activities of daily living, recreation and leisure, community integration, transportation, housekeeping, program planning and implementation.

Support Service Coordinators must exhibit good work habits, including appropriate personal appearance, regular and punctual attendance, dependability, safe driving habits, a positive and caring attitude and attention to detail. Candidates must also be organized, self-motivated, observant, accurate in documentation and responsive to the needs of individuals receiving services.
