Have You Taken the Plunge?
The Eleventh Annual Grumpy Plunge is on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Slippery’s Bar and Grill in Wabasha. Plungers are collecting pledges and designing clever costumes to WOW the crowd. Plaques from Wild Wings are awarded for best costumes; individual, couple, and team, in addition to an award for the plunger who traveled the farthest and an award for the plunger who raised the most money. Every plunger receives a long sleeved t-shirt, a spaghetti dinner, and bragging rights.
Donations are being sought from friends and families by plungers who can’t wait to jump into the icy Mississippi River to support the missions of Great River Homes, Inc. and the Rotary Club of Wabasha. A $75 minimum in donations for plunging privileges. If you don’t plan to jump yourself, please support your favorite plunger with a generous pledge. All proceeds from this event benefit people in our community.
Pledge materials are available online at www.wabashamn.org, www.greatriverhomes.org, or you may pick up a pledge form at the Wabasha-Kellogg Chamber/CVB in downtown Wabasha. Advance registration is not required. Bring the registration form and money to Slippery’s between 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Plunging begins at 3:00 p.m.
