Knights of Columbus Donation to Great River Homes, Inc.

The Knights of Columbus Council No. 881 of Wabasha, held their annual Tootsie Roll fundraiser in April, 2010, to benefit people with developmental disabilities in Wabasha County. Knights are positioned at several busy areas of town. They wear brightly colored vests and ask community members for donations. In return, donors receive a Tootsie Roll.

2010 marked the thirtieth year the Knights of Columbus have conducted the Tootsie Roll fundraiser. This year, the Knights received donations of $400,000 throughout Minnesota.

Members of Council No. 881 conduct the fundraiser as it is a great way as a community to get together and raise money to help people with developmental disabilities. People feel good because they know their money is going to a truly worthy cause.

Jim Pfeilsticker, Grand Knight of Council No. 881 presented a check for $927 to Michael Weinandt, Administrator of Great River Homes, Inc.; along with Megan Packer, Support Service Coordinator of Great River Homes, Inc.; and Jerry McMillin, Program Supervisor of Great River Homes, Inc.
