IT Support Specialist

Position Summary

Provide on-site and remote technical support for information systems to company employees, including Windows PC hardware, printers and other devices; local, wireless and wide-area networking; software applications including Windows operating systems, shared file systems, Microsoft Office applications, web browsers, email and others. Responsible for computer training of employees at different levels of computer skills.

Job Duties:

  • Work by and efficiently with on-site and remote users to maintain/upgrade hardware and software, resolve issues and provide excellent support. Give basic instruction to employees on hardware and software operation.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot a wide range of hardware and software issues. Perform hardware/software upgrades to existing computer equipment as needed.
  • Resolve problems to ensure employee satisfaction and elminate downtime.
  • Provide user maintenance on network including access, security and maintaining configurations within standards.
  • Provide continuous improvement suggestions in software, hardware or computing practices to effectively and efficiently utilize IT resources.
  • Communicate on a timely basis with manager regarding issues, failures, upgrades or replacements needed.
  • Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating system and application software being used to provide high levels of support to employees. Ensure that personal computers and networks are functioning properly.
  • Responds to employee inquiries. Diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Prefer an Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in computer related field plus four years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
