Great River Homes, Inc.
The Board of Directors of Great River Homes, Inc. held its annual elections at its last board meeting on January 31, 2008 in Wabasha. Donna Tesch of Plainview and Paul Garry of Lake City were re-elected to serve three-year terms on the Board of Directors. Diane Franke of Lake City was elected to serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors. Ken Heise of Lake City was elected to serve as President. Donna Tesch of Plainview was elected as Vice-President, and Kathy Geraghty of Wabasha was elected to serve as Secretary/Treasurer. Other board members are Lori Scanlan-Hanson, Louise Haley and Dennis Bussian of Wabasha and Gloria Keseley of Plainview. Dorothy Gusa of Elgin was recognized for nine years of dedicated service as a volunteer board member from 1999-2008 including three years as President. The governing body of Great River Homes, Inc. is the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of nine members who serve as volunteers and represent diverse backgrounds. The board is the policy-making body of Great River Homes, Inc. The current board has a combined total of eighty-six years of board experience with Great River Homes, Inc. Great River Homes, Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1975. The mission of Great River Homes, Inc. is to continually improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities in Wabasha County by providing quality support services. The vision of Great River Homes, Inc. is for all people with developmental disabilities to have full and abundant lives. "The property, affairs, and business of Great River Homes, Inc. is the responsibility of the Board of Directors", said Michael Weinandt, Administrator of Great River Homes, Inc. "The Board of Directors understands their responsibilities as stewards of the organization and are committed to carrying out its mission." Great River Homes, Inc. provides support services to 55 children and adults with developmental disabilities in Wabasha County. Services include Supported Living Services, Semi-Independent Living Services, In-Home Family Support Services, Personal Support Services, and Respite Care.
