On October 12, 2008, following the Community Enrichment Celebration at the VFW Club in Wabasha, MN, the 8th Street SLS hosted an Open House. The 8th Street SLS has been a major stepping stone for Great River Homes, Inc. and completes the goal of having all one-level housing available for indiviudals receiving support services in Wabasha County.

The Open House was a great success and smiles were on every face.It is the mission of Great River Homes, Inc. to continually improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities in Wabasha County by providing quality support services. The vision of Great River Homes, Inc. is for all people with developmental disabilities to have full and abundant lives. For the past 32 years, Great River Homes, Inc. has fulfilled its mission and vision by providing supported living services, semi-independent living services, respite care, personal support, and in-home family support services
